New cost-efficient ways of transporting loaded containers
Details
Situation:
In most industrialized countries – and China especially – a vast quantity of loaded containers is transported by inefficient diesel powered trucks from source of production directly to the shipping port, causing traffic congestion, traffic accidents, constant delivery delays, and excessive air pollution.
Facts: 1) Large volume of moveable goods, 2) A great number of manufacturing sites, 3) Wide expanding production area, 4) Port of destination same and defined in every transportation instance.

Challenge: How to think and implement new cost-efficient, intelligent, and problem solving solutions to conduct the transport of containerized commodities and materials from manufacturing sites to shipping port/ shipping destination.

Primary social impact of solving this challenge is: 1) Radically decreasing energy consumption/ air pollution, 2) Minimizing traffic congestion and accidents, 3) Enhancing logistic efficiency (no delays) and thereby also competitiveness, 4) Economizing infrastructural capital spending

Background
In the greater Shanghai area in China, for instance, the manufacturing and transport logistics scenery is roughly outlined in one of the files attached.
